Black Bear Carbon

Black Bear Carbon is an innovative Limburg-based company that recovers carbon black, oil, and gas from tyre granulate. With the investment from Invest-NL, the company can begin construction of a new factory at the Chemelot industrial park in Geleen.

An earlier factory in Nederweert was dismantled after a fire in 2019. After an intensive two-year period, Black Bear Carbon is living up to its reputation as a technology pioneer with the development of a best-in-class factory in terms of process, safety, and reliability. In this factory, rubber granulate from car and truck tyres will be converted into high-quality basic products: oil, gas, and carbon black.

This investment contributes to the transition to a circular economy.

Invest-NL provides € 2.5 million in the form of a convertible loan and makes use of the EIB InnovFin SME Guarantee.
