Invest-NL is committed to a more sustainable and innovative Netherlands. Therefore, we focus on investment funds that provide rapidly growing innovative companies with better and more access to venture capital. Funds that fill a clear funding gap and have proven contributions to the venture capital ecosystem in the sector.
Invest-NL also has a strong focus on impact and policy around Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in funds. We focus on funds that invest in companies within the sectors of agrifood, biobased & circular economy, deep tech, energy, and life sciences & health. We prefer to be involved early on. This way, we hope to encourage other private and institutional investors to join us in making investments.
Invest-NL focuses on funds with a target fund size of at least € 50 million. We participate with tickets between € 5 million and € 25 million per fund. Below are our main criteria for investments. Additional conditions and details will be discussed during the application process.
The fund has a clear investment policy aimed at making an impact within our strategic themes: Agrifood, Biobased & Circular Economy, Deep Tech, Energy, and Life Sciences & Health.
We invest in funds that initially do not raise sufficient financing from private and institutional investors. By entering early, we provide additional support.
We support both starting teams (first time funds) and experienced teams. It is important that the fund has a team with a proven track record in the scope of the fund's investments.
The fund has a clear impact in the Netherlands: the fund is willing to invest at least twice the amount invested by Invest-NL in Dutch companies.
The funds we invest in are of significant added value within the crucial transition sectors. With our investment, we ideally increase the likelihood that more private and institutional investors will join the fund.
