The innovative Dutch company SCW is developing two technologies that contribute to the energy transition and a circular economy. Over the past decade, SCW has developed an innovative 'Supercritical Water Gasification' technology. This process converts organic residual streams under high temperature and high pressure into green hydrogen and green gas – a sustainable alternative to natural gas. At the demolition site, SCW and its partner Gasunie are currently building an industrial plant with an initial capacity of 18.6 MW. This is the world's first supercritical water gasification plant. The investment from Invest-NL paves the way for further scaling up to 100 MW. Parallel to this, SCW is developing its 'CO2 CLEANUP' process. This technology permanently captures CO2 and converts it into useful raw materials, for example, for sustainable cement. Currently, this process is being tested on a modest scale. If the pilot proves successful, this investment can directly lead to an industrial demonstration plant.

Through this investment, Invest-NL contributes to the energy transition and a circular economy.
