This year, Invest-NL celebrated its fifth anniversary as the national financing and development institution, and also had the honour of hosting the General Assembly of the European Long-Term Investors Association (ELTI) in Amsterdam.
ELTI, founded in 2013, brings together more than thirty National Promotional Banks and Institutions (NPBIs) from across Europe. Together, we are committed to sustainable, innovative, and competitive long-term investments that strengthen the European economy.
Invest-NL has been a member of ELTI since 2020 and has been actively participating in this network since then. Within ELTI, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) hold a permanent observer role.
The event took place under the theme “Building the Future Economy of the EU.” On Thursday evening, 26 September, members gathered for an informal dinner at the STRAAT Museum. The following day featured a substantive programme at the Maritime Museum, where leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and financial institutions discussed Europe's shared future.
Highlights from the programme included a keynote by Menno Middeldorp (Rabobank), a fireside chat with Frank Heemskerk (ASML) and Rinke Zonneveld (Invest-NL), and a panel discussion with Hamed Sadeghian (Nearfield), Kiki Lauwers (Thorizon), Maive Rute (European Commission), and Borut Jamnik (SID Banka), European Commission and international banks.
The hosting of the General Assembly marks an important milestone for Invest-NL. It emphasizes the organisation's role as a unifying force within Europe, focused on innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
