Invest-NL joins the Joint Initiative on Circular Economy (JICE)

Brussels, April 17, 2024 – Invest-NL is proud to announce its membership in the Joint Initiative on Circular Economy (JICE), a collaboration of the largest national financing and development banks and institutions of the European Union, established in 2019.

Launched in 2019 by six major European promotional banks, including the European Investment Bank (EIB), KfW (Germany), BGK (Poland), CDP (Italy), ICO (Spain), and Caisse des Dépôts Group (CDC, including Bpifrance, France), JICE focuses on providing long-term financing for projects that accelerate the transition to a circular economy. The initiative aims to invest €16 billion in circular economy projects by the end of 2025.

Invest-NL has joined JICE to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration, which are crucial for promoting a circular economy. Rinke Zonneveld, CEO of Invest-NL, states, "This will strengthen public-private financing mechanisms, making circular solutions more feasible and scalable."

Guy de Sévaux, senior development manager at Invest-NL, emphasizes, "Joining JICE is a logical step in our strategy to lead in the area of circular financing. We see tremendous opportunities for circularity across various industries and view collaboration with our European partners as essential to support this transition."
