As the national financing and development institution, Invest-NL focuses on a number of strategic themes: Agrifood, Biobased & Circular economy, Deep tech, Energy, and Life Sciences & Health. As an investor, we therefore prioritize impact and ESG. In the initial phase of our potential collaboration, we therefore look at impact and additionality. That is a second key condition: we may only get involved if the market is not yet ready for it.

We check whether the investment application meets our financing conditions.
The investment team prepares an initial analysis of the application and discusses it internally.
We assess whether the investment meets our impact, ESG, and state aid criteria. Additionally, we conduct an initial due diligence on the management, the investment process, the legal and fiscal (fund) structure, and the financial results.
Our investment committee evaluates the investment proposal and decides whether to invest.
If necessary, an external party will carry out additional due diligence. ESG criteria are further addressed and a KYC assessment takes place. We also prepare the investment documentation.
We prepare the transaction documentation, the transaction is signed and executed.
