Invest-NL invests € 10 million in Leyden Labs as part of a € 40 million funding round. With this follow-up investment, Invest-NL supports the further clinical development of a Dutch biotech company working on broader protection against respiratory viruses, such as influenza viruses and coronaviruses.
Leyden Labs raises €40 million from an international consortium of investors from Europe, the United States, and Asia. The funding follows Leyden Labs' selection for the EIC STEP Scale Up programme. Investors in this round include the EIC Fund, Gates Foundation Strategic Investment Fund, ClavystBio, and other investors. Invest-NL invests €10 million.
This group of financiers share a common belief: new solutions are needed to better protect people worldwide against influenza and other respiratory viruses. Leyden Labs is developing a platform of nasal sprays containing broad-spectrum protective antibodies, aimed at safeguarding the respiratory tract, where these viruses enter the body.
This investment is a continuation of the earlier funding round from Invest-NL and the EIC Fund. The funding will support further development of Leyden Labs' clinical programme. This builds on Invest-NL’s previous involvement with the company and helps advance a promising Dutch innovation. Leyden Labs' technology could contribute to better protection against respiratory viruses, and in turn, a more resilient UK.
