Direct financing
We invest in impactful and innovative companies. These are our criteria for getting involved.
As a national funding and development agency, we have the mandate and capital to invest in a sustainable and innovative Netherlands. Directly in enterprises or indirectly via investment funds. We provide financing to companies and projects that make a difference. In this way, we resolve funding bottlenecks and mobilise capital. Where others hesitate, we take the first step.

Funds that fill a clear financing gap in the venture capital ecosystem are what we choose. Find our criteria here.
If a company meets our criteria, we go through six steps to arrive at an investment.
We focus on innovative enterprises, from startups to established companies.
Enterprises that can make an impact in the fields of Agrifood, Biobased & Circular Economy, Deep Tech, Energy, and Life Sciences & Health. In these sectors, securing conventional funding can be challenging because the market is not yet ready.
As a national financing and development institution, Invest-NL can step in early and grow alongside these companies. We offer many forms of financing, and our capital is patient.
In some sectors or certain investment phases, there is a lack of venture capital.
We finance funds that fill a funding gap, add something to the ecosystem, or otherwise make a clear impact within our themes of Agrifood, Biobased & Circular Economy, Deep Tech, Energy, and Life Sciences & Health.
Funding investment funds is done directly via Invest-NL or in collaboration with our European partners: the European Investment Fund (EIF) and InvestEU.
Whether it's about deep tech, circular entrepreneurship or the energy transition — we fund innovators at every stage. From scale-ups with growth ambitions to established companies focusing on innovation.
With a few brief, targeted questions, we estimate whether your project or enterprise is eligible for funding.
