Alignment of private equity with circular enterprises not a given

Entrepreneurs, after the startup and scaleup phases, often rely on private equity, debt financiers, or an acquisition through M&A advisors. However, the characteristics of companies with a circular business model do not always align well with the practices of these parties, while the entrepreneurs are insufficiently prepared for this financing phase. € 20 million funding for Thorizon's innovative nuclear technology

A preliminary study on the year 2023 by SEO Economic Research, commissioned by the Netherlands Sustainable Energy Association (NVDE), Rabobank, Alliander, Gasunie, and Invest-NL, shows that at least €25 billion has been invested in sustainability. Although these efforts are promising, there remains uncertainty about the total investment required.
