Innovation Industries announces the launch of a new fund focused on financing and supporting deeptech startups and scale-ups in the Benelux and Germany. The Innovation Industries Fund III, with a total size of € 500 million, receives contributions of € 10 million from Invest-NL and € 74 million from the European Investment Fund (EIF) as part of the Dutch Future Fund II program. Additionally, pension funds PME and PMT are also investing in this fund.
With its previous funds, Innovation Industries has significantly contributed to the Dutch economy by stimulating deeptech innovations and creating high-quality employment. Innovation Industries Fund III will invest in technology companies that can provide innovative solutions for societal transitions such as energy supply, circularity, healthcare, and agrifood. Due to the complexity and advanced nature of their products, deeptech companies have higher capital requirements and longer development times compared to more conventional enterprises.
This investment underscores Invest-NL's goal to strengthen the entrepreneurial climate in the Netherlands and stimulate further economic growth. "Our investment in Innovation Industries Fund III emphasizes our commitment to highly innovative companies in the Netherlands. We are proud of this first investment under the Dutch Future Fund II and our collaboration with the European Investment Fund," says Nicolaas Heij, senior investment manager.
Innovation Industries Fund III plays a crucial role in providing essential financing for companies in critical development stages. By participating in this fund, Invest-NL also enhances its partnerships and networks with other investors, companies, and knowledge institutions, potentially leading to further innovation within the sector.
