QuantWare's VIO technology enables the building of quantum processors with over a million qubits. This is a significant step in the global race for powerful quantum computers capable of solving complex problems in areas such as healthcare, energy management, and cybersecurity.
In 2023, the Deep Tech Fund of Invest-NL conducted an extensive study into the Dutch quantum ecosystem. This 'deep dive' resulted in an investment strategy aimed at strengthening and promoting this ecosystem.
"Our investment in QuantWare underscores our ambition to scale Dutch quantum companies to become global players," says Yvonne Greeuw, investment manager at the Deep Tech Fund of Invest-NL. "QuantWare’s innovative architecture has the potential to play a crucial role in the scalability of quantum computers. This is not only important for technological advancement but also for further strengthening the Dutch quantum sector. We are proud to support QuantWare as co-lead investor, together with InnovationQuarter, on their path to further international growth and impact."
Quantum technology has been recognized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs as one of the ten key technologies in the National Technology Strategy. With this investment, the Netherlands reinforces its position as a pioneer in the quantum industry.
To participate internationally, the Netherlands must compete with countries where quantum companies benefit from substantial government support. This requires a long-term vision and patience. Private investors are indispensable in this, but often need to be convinced. That’s why Invest-NL and InnovationQuarter are acting as co-lead investors in this Series A round. This way, we mobilize European capital and ensure that existing private investors like Forward. One and Graduate Entrepreneur Fund can continue to contribute to QuantWare's growth.
